This is a geometry mesh I made following the templates of a few image planes to model an Audi R8. It took about a total of 96 hours for me to finish. There are no textures on it except for the license plate. I have used mental ray shaders that are built into maya to create the color and reflection. I have also added a simple HDR lighting dome to simulate a lighting studio effect. That is what creates the highlights on the car. The tires are the only UVed geometry and have a bump map that shows the treads of the tire. The car has no interior at this point so that is why I decided not to make the glass transparent.
